Even after being separated, production of Kamal Amrohi's film 'Pakeeja' continued. At the same time, Meena Kumari also continued shooting for her film. It is said that three weeks after the release of the film 'Pakija', Meena Kumari became seriously ill while at the time of her death she had last named Kamal Amrohi (her husband). She then went into a coma. She later died.
