Meghalaya extended lockdown till June 14, know what are restrictions will be imposed

Shillong: The state government has declared a complete lockdown across the state from June 7 to June 14 amid increasing corona infection cases in Meghalaya. In an order, the government said that the number of covid-19 infection cases in the state is still very high and is spreading considerably in rural areas.

The order said prevention measures will be implemented in the state to protect Meghalaya from the growing scourge of corona infection. These measures will be implemented from June 7 until further orders. The lockdown will be in force across the state from 5 am on June 7 to 5 am on June 14. Earlier, the Meghalaya government had declared a lockdown in East Khasi Hills district only till June 7 to prevent the spread of corona. In an order issued on Friday, the Meghalaya government said political, public, social and religious meetings will not be allowed in the state during the lockdown.

The order said tourists coming from outside the state will not be allowed to enter the state and all tourist places will also remain closed. There will also be a ban on inter-state movement. However this ban will not be applicable to transit vehicles of Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram. The international border trade will be controlled by deputy commissioners.
