Meghalaya logs 406 new Covid cases

In the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, 406 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Saturday, including one death (EKH). Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, the State has recovered 185 new cases. The total number of cases recovered now counts 84,643. The number of active cases has risen to 2,002, according to a Health Department statement.

The total number of fatalities from COVID-19 infection stands at 1,496 so far.East Khasi Hills has the highest number of active cases with 1,377. West Khasi Hills has 30 cases, East Garo Hills has 13 cases, West Garo Hills has 277 cases, Ri-Bhoi has 125 cases, West Jaintia Hills has 63 cases, East Jaintia Hills has 39 cases, South West Khasi Hills has 16 cases, South Garo Hills has 17 cases, North Garo Hills has 12 cases, Eastern West Khasi Hills has 18 cases and South West Garo Hills has 15 cases. 

The 406 new COVID-19 cases which have been detected are from East Khasi Hills (304), Eastern West Khasi Hills (three), East Jaintia Hills (three), Ri-Bhoi (16), South Garo Hills (two), South West Khasi Hills (one), West Jaintia Hills (14), West Garo Hills (56), North Garo Hills (one) and West Khasi Hills (six).

The 185 recovered cases are from East Khasi Hills (143), Eastern West Khasi Hills (four), Ri-Bhoi (14), South West Khasi Hills (one), West Garo Hills (22) and West Khasi Hills (one).
