The political controversy over Team India's saffron and blue jerseys against England in the World Cup 2019 is on the rise. Several political parties in the country had already objected to the color and when India lost, Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti added to the controversy. Team India lost the match against England as the team wore saffron-colored jerseys.

After Team India's defeat, Mehbooba Mufti tweeted, "You call me a blind believer, but it is the jersey that stopped Team India's Vijay Rath for the first time in the World Cup 2019. Earlier, Mehbooba Mufti tweeted that Pakistani fans are praying for India's victory for the match. Let's just like a match, the people of both countries have the same thinking.

Earlier, some members of the Samajwadi Party and Congress party in the country had questioned the saffron colour of Team India's jersey. In yesterday's match, England were 337 for 3 in their first innings, while India could only score 306 runs.
