Jammu and Kashmir :After the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir, the PDP has now announced to boycott the Panchayat elections in the state. The PDP also decided to withdraw from the election, citing Article 35A. Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, on Monday endorsed Article 35 A in the state after a high level meeting of the PDP. Mehbooba has said that she will fight for the special status of Jammu and Kashmir till the last breath, because the special status received under Article 35A is a subject related to the life of every person in the state.
During a press conference in Srinagar, Mahbuba has said that PDP will boycott the proposed panchayat elections till the Center clarifies its stand on the subject. Apart from this, the fight on every front will continue to keep the special status of the state. Mehbooba has said that it will be wrong to make any election between the recent fear and uncertainty environment in Jammu and Kashmir and questions on its reliability will also stand. In such a situation, the PDP has decided that he will not be nominated for this election unless the atmosphere of uncertainty arises on Article 35A.
