Srinagar: People's Democratic Party (PDP) National President Mehbooba Mufti on Friday demanded a fair investigation and handover of the bodies to the families of the youths in connection with the alleged killing of three youths in an alleged fake encounter two days ago. Mufti wrote a letter to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, stating that such incidents bring disrepute to the armed forces and is a serious violation of human rights.

Mehbooba Mufti further said that I am sure that you are aware of the unfortunate incident of Parampora on 30 December. He wrote in the letter that three boys were killed, one of whom was 17 years old. The family alleges that it was a planned encounter. Former CM Mehbooba Mufti said that questions are also being raised on this encounter and contradictory reports have come from the police and the army. There will be justice only if immediate action is taken and hence I request you to start a fair investigation in this matter immediately.

Police claimed on Wednesday that three terrorists were killed in a late-night encounter in the Parimpora area, but the families of the youths said they were not involved in terrorist activities and two of them were students.
