NEW DELHI: After killing his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar on May 18 and cutting her body into 35 pieces, the accused Aftab Ameen Poonawala first disposed off the liver and intestines after mincing it, sources confirmed.

The liver and intestines were the first body parts that Aftab admitted to disposing of in plastic bags in the Chattarpur and Mehrauli forest areas,  the source said.

After searching methodology to cut up a body on Google, Aftab Poonawala kept the victim's body under the shower in the bathroom so as to enable it to chop easily.

"Because I enjoy watching crime shows on TV, I got ideas from them on how to preserve the body pieces and allay concerns about her whereabouts. After the murder, I continued to update her Instagram account for that reason. I completed it on my own "the sources said citing his confession.

A Delhi Police squad brought Aftab back to the Mehrauli woodland area on Tuesday morning to retrieve the remains. On Monday, he was brought there for the first time.

After his arrest on November 12, the police conducted several searches and discovered 10 plastic bags containing what they believe to be human remains.
