New Delhi: The number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the country has dropped dramatically, according to the Union Health Ministry. In comparison to the global COVID-19 cases reported, the Union Ministry stated that India accounts for only 0.7 percent of global cases.

Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health, said today at a press conference, "In many nations throughout the world, the number of COVID-19 patients has increased dramatically. On a daily basis, this shows a growing trend of rising cases. Around 15,00,000 cases are recorded every day around the world now."

"COVID-19 cases are now being reported in large numbers in several nations. In some countries, the number of cases is continuing to rise. In India, there has been a significant decrease in COVID-19 instances. On a weekly basis, around 11,000 COVID-19 cases are recorded in India. The number of cases has decreased significantly. India accounts for only 0.7 percent of all cases worldwide "he stated

The Health Ministry announced today that India has seen a decrease in the number of deaths when compared to other countries. In comparison to other countries, India has a favourable death rate. India had an average of 615 deaths from February 2 to February 8. COVID-19 has been linked to 144 deaths in the last week. A 76.6 percent drop from the highest point in India's history," he said.
