One of the most renowned singers in Bollywood Bhupinder Singh has played very important role in Music Industry. The veteran singer has given several iconic songs in Bollywood industry including  'Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchan Hai, Gar Yaad Rahe...' and many more. Today is the Birthday of the Veteran singer. Have a look on his journey.

Bhupinder Singh was born on February 6, 1940 in Amritsar, Punjab. His father Professor Nattha Singh was an excellent musician. Bhupinder Singh took music lessons from his father but  he used to be strict in teaching music. Due to the strictness of his father, Bhupinder hated music, but gradually he developed a love for music and then he kept on learning. Bhupinder Singh used to sing songs very well, apart from this, he also used to play guitar.

He used to performed at Doordarshan Kendra Delhi and during this time he also learned violin and guitar. At that time Composer Madan Mohan called him to Mumbai after hearing his singing in All India Radio and he got his first opportunity to sing in the film Haqeeqat. In this film, he lent his voice to the ghazal 'Hoke Mujhe Majboor Bhaya Hoga'. Although he did not get recognition from this, he continued to sing songs but after this he gives many iconic songs to the industry.

Bhupinder got  married Mithali Mukherjee, a Bengali singer, in the 1980s. After marriage, he opted out of playback singing. Both presented many programs together and Bhupinder-Mithali pair became very famous. Both earned a lot of name and fame. The couple does not have any children. After suffering form age related illness he passed away at the age of 82.
