Mumbai, Nov 21: The Mumbai police on Wednesday filed an FIR against actor Alok Nath on allegations of rape leveled by the writer of ‘Tara ‘Vinta Nanda .

Mmbai Police Additional CP Manoj Sharma said that Oshiwara Police has registered an FIR against Alok Nath under section 376 of IPC (rape) on the complaint filed by Writer Vinta Nanda.'

Worth mention here On October 8, Nanda, in a Facebook post, had detailed her suffering of being allegedly sexually harassed by Alok Nath of the well-liked 1990s TV show Tara. She was producing and writing at the time. Nanda in her FB post wrote that she was sexually molested more than once by Nath after he was detached from the TV show for misconducting with its lead actress, Navneet Nishan. After sharing her ordeal of harassment on social media, she filed a case against Alok Nath at the Oshiwara police station. Following Nanda's complaint , actresses Sandhya Mridul and Deepika Amin supported her and shared their own experiences of being allegedly molested by Alok Nath.

On the other hand  Alok Nath later sued Nanda for defamation.
