Currently, many countries are in the race to obtain the vaccine in order to curb the deadly virus. The contract with COVAX Facility guarantees Mexico’s purchase of enough vaccines for up to 20 percent of the population, the foreign ministry said in a statement. This percentage of the population represented more than 51.5 million doses for a vaccination plan of two doses per person, and COVAX currently has a portfolio of nine candidate vaccines from various countries, adds the statement.

Also, many nations are also in the battle of creating the first vaccine so that they can preserve the trademark rights and status.
