The JioSaavn app will be placed on MG Motor India's forthcoming mid-size Astor SUV's 10.1-inch infotainment system for streaming music and videos. It will be powered by the i-Smart Hub, which will be available on the new connected SUV, which will be unveiled on September 15.
The MG Astor will be the brand's first vehicle to have an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered personal assistant system that can respond to voice requests and execute activities like playing music or making and receiving phone calls. Deepa Malik, a paralympic athlete and Khel Ratna Awardee, will be the voice of the personal AI assistant. The JioSaavn app will be loaded on the 10.1-inch infotainment system of MG Motor's mid-size Astor SUV.
The idea of Car as a Platform (CAAP) software, which is based on technologies like Machine Learning, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and others, underpins the mid-size. The SUV will also be equipped with the segment's first Autonomous Level 2 technology. This will allow it to execute Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Prevention, and Speed Assist, among other emergency safety measures.
MG Motor has announced that the Astor SUV will come standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in all trim levels, allowing more people to benefit from the vehicle connect system. Further, the i-Smart hub on the new MG vehicle will give access to features such as parking assist. Powered by Park+, this feature will help drivers reserve a parking slot through a head unit, initially in select cities. Coming to the mechanicals, the ICE counterpart of the MG ZS EV, Astor will be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine, which will be capable of churning out 141 bhp of power and 240 Nm of maximum torque. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic unit.
