This festive season, MG Motor will unveil the Astor SUV. The Astor is MG's sixth vehicle in India, and it attempts to compete with small SUV sector giants like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Tata Harrier, both in terms of features and pricing.

The MG Astor, which will be offered in up to eight trim levels and about 20 variations, will come with a slew of amenities, several of which will be sector firsts. The advanced driver assistant system (ADAS) with autonomous level 2 driving technology, the digital key technology, the personal Al assistant, and many more features are among them.

The ADAS feature will provide drivers with a mass of information and assistance in order to make driving more safer. Advanced cruise control, frontal collision warning, auto emergency braking, lane maintain assist, lane departure prevention, blind-spot recognition, and speed assist are just a few of the features available. Hill hold, hill descent, disc brakes, 360-degree camera, and cornering assist foglamp will all be available on the MG Astor for enhanced control and safety.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and Lane Departure Provision (LDP) are among the autonomous level 2 features available on the MG Astor. The LKA monitors lane markers to help keep the car in one lane, the LDW alerts drivers to lane changes, and the LDP brakes the vehicle to keep it from changing lanes. With the assistance of voice commands, the AI personal assistant makes driving a lot easier. It can manage the sunroof, temperature, navigation, and music, as well as provide information.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both supported by the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. MG has loaded the system with a variety of entertainment apps, as well as the ability to play high-definition films and use the screen to display the 360-degree camera.

The Astor SUV will be available with two engine options from MG. The 1.3-liter turbocharged petrol engine produces 140 horsepower and 220 Nm of peak torque. The engine is connected to a torque converter transmission with six speeds. The 1.5-litre petrol engine has a max torque of 144 Nm and can produce 110 PS.

The engine will be paired with one of two transmissions. A 5-speed manual transmission is available, as well as an 8-speed CVT. The MG Astor will be available in seven trim levels, including Super, Smart STD, Smart, Sharp STD, Sharp, Savvy, and Savvy Red, with the turbocharged 1.3-litre petrol engine. The manual 1.5-litre model will be available in only five trims, while the automatic version will be available in seven.

The Astor is set to start at approximately ten lakh rupees. The top-spec Savvy and Savvy Red trims, which are likely to come with the majority of the amenities, are estimated to cost around Rs 18 lakh or more.
