MG Motors has finally launched its first Hector SUV in India and the company has priced its starting price at Rs 12.18 lakh, lower than the Tata Harrier. However, mg Hector's base variant comes with a petrol engine option, which is not available in Tata Harrier. The diesel version of Hector has priced at Rs 13.18 lakh which is Rs 18,000 more expensive than Harrier's base model. Harrier has priced at Rs 13 lakh. Today we are going to compare our top-end diesel models of MG Hector and Tata Harrier to each other in this news.

MG Hector comes with first-in-segment features, which currently doesn't exist in any of the cars in this segment. Most notably, it features a 10.4-inch vertically-mounted infotainment screen. In addition, the car features an Internet-connected infotainment system that comes with a number of security features such as geo-fencing. It comes with a 5G-ready eSIM that allows live tracking of the vehicle. It can also control Ac and Sunroof through the smartphone app. MG Hector's top-end variants come with AI-based voice commands that come with multiple control functions - AC, Window, and Sunroof.

For your information, MG Hector Sharp offers cruise control systems, a panoramic sunroof, electrically-adjustable seats, projector headlamps, LED DRL, tail lamps, tire-pressure monitoring system, traction control system, 6-airbag, ABS and EBD. Mg Hector also features hands-free boot operation, rear seat recline, large boot space in the segment and electric parking brakes. Tata Harrier also has several features but doesn't have a connected infotainment system. Harrier features a 7-inch digital instrument cluster that comes with an analog speedometer. The car features drive modes, engine modes, cruise control, LED DRL, LED tail lamps, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, phone holder in each door, 14-function ESP, fast charging USB ports, 6 airbags, TCS and ABS+EBD.

Both the SUVs are tata Harrier and MG Hector, the same Fiat BS-4 2.0-litre multijet diesel engine. The engine is also in Jeep Compass for the Indian market. The engines of both vehicles are the same, but the power is different. MG Hector generates 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. Tata Harrier generates 140 PS of power and 350Nm of torque. Both models are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Mg Hector Diesel's ARAI mileage of 17.4kmpl. Tata Harrier's 16.7kmpl. Both the trains come with a BS4 diesel engine and front wheel drive options. The MG Hector Sharp diesel variant is priced at Rs 16.88 lakh. The Tata Harrier top-end XZ version is priced at Rs 16.55 lakh. There is a difference of around Rs 33,000 in both prices. However, MG Hector is coming up with many more features than Harrier in the Indian market. These include the Tata Harrier, which includes a full-panoramic sunroof, a more powerful diesel engine, electrically controlled seats, internet-connected services and big boots.
