Some people have shared the post on the Internet, claiming that the French-born prophet Nostradamus had predicted the coronavirus about 465 years ago and that it will engulf the world. On Twitter, a social media user named Marco Malacara wrote that 'worldwide floods, fires, and outbreaks of coronavirus are the same crisis predicted by Nostradamus 465 years ago. Many online theorists also say that Michael de Nastredamus had spoken of a terrible epidemic in his prophecy in the 15th century.

The prophecies of Nostradamus are found in mysterious messages called quatrains (chaupai). His prophecies first appeared in 1555. Online theorists have claimed that the coronavirus is mentioned in 2:53, a quadruped of Nostradamus. It has claimed a major epidemic in a city adjoining the sea.
