 IT company Microsoft has announced that after October 31, it can not accept a new app for Windows 8. This is being done to focus on the new app in the direction of the development of Windows 10. The company can stop the supply of Windows 8 based phones and device apps from July 2019 and till 2023.

In a blog on Monday, the Microsoft Store team wrote, "We will discontinue the distribution of Windows Phone 8 Point X and Windows 8 or 8.1 machines before or after the above dates, at which time consumers can only update with the help of Windows 10 devices." Not only this, the company can stop accepting new apps for Windows 8.

The company claims that although this restriction will not apply to the currently running app. The company said in the blog that we will further inform customers how to port their current app through the UWP (Universal Windows Platform). Consumers can install a single Windows 10 app package and install them in their device.

After a long time competing for the sale of their Windows Phone with Google's Android and Apple's iOS operating system (OS), Microsoft has now accepted that Windows Phone has died. The company is no longer developing any new feature or hardware for it.
