Mid Noon Market Pulse, Sensex cracks 230 points

The key benchmark  Indian equity market is trading on a negative note on Friday with the BSE Sensex falling over 415 points intraday lowest.

At around 12 noon, Sensex was trading at 50,415  lower by 231 points from its previous close of 50,846.08. It opened at 50,517.36 and touched an intraday high of 50,547.00 and a low of 50,311.47 points. Conversely, the  Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 15000-mark, lower by 75  points from its previous close.

Selling pressure was witnessed in banking, finance and metal stocks, while buying took place in oil and gas and energy stocks. The top gainers on the Sensex were ONGC, NTPC and Maruti Suzuki India while IndusInd Bank, ICICI Bank and State Bank of India were the major losers.

GAIL India, ONGC, HERO MOTOCO, MARUTI and TITAN were among major gainers in mid-session, while INDUS INDBK, WIPRO, State bank of India., UPL and TATA MOTORS were major losers.

On the Multicommodity exchange Gold continue to head southwards to Rs. 44363 per 10 gm. Also, silver in line shed 0.56% to trade at Rs. 65,500 per kg.

In the international markets, gold slumped to a 9-month low to after Jerome Powell on Thursday reiterated to maintain credit loose and also said that though the rise in US treasury yields was considerable, it was not something a disorderly move.
