Karan Johar is one of the most popular filmmakers in Bollywood. The filmmaker remains in news due to his statements. In a recent interview, Karan opens up on the current state of Bollywood. The filmmaker slams the Bollywood stars who asked crores to do a film but are not able to bring it back on the first day of release.
Karan Johar in a Podcast opens up on different things in Bollywood. He said his company Dharma Production started with two people. Karan said, “Like I told you about Student of the Year. Like I made a hit film and lost my money. I literally popped a pill every night. I have so much emotion. My heart lies in Hindi cinema.
He further speaks about the current state of Bollywood said, “But if you ask me, as a business person, I think Telugu is a far more lucrative industry. Karan Johar was asked who is earning a pie from a film. The director replied , “Unfortunately, a pie of that is with the movie stars. I might be murdered for saying this, but if you are opening to five crores and you are asking me for 20 crores, how is that fair? Delusion is one disease that has no vaccine.”
