Bucharest [Romania], Jan 16 (NT): Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Tudose quit from his post after his party take back its support in the middle of the struggle.Mihai Tudose was appointed PM in June 2017, after his precursor, Sorin Grindeanu was drum out by the PSD and its junior coalition partner ALDE, who argued that Grindeanu had fallen behind schedule implementing a reform program.

The party decided that there is a need for a new government, with a new approach,” Tudose told reporters after leaving a party leadership meeting on Monday evening in Bucharest. The deputy prime minister, Paul Stanescu, will become the temporary prime minister on Tuesday, he said.

Meanwhile, According to the local media reports, the ruling left-wing Social Democratic Party (PSD) withdrew its support for Tudose after a meeting lasting more than five hours.

Mihai Tudose said he was quitting "with my head high" just over six months after he took office.

PSD officials confirmed that country's development minister Paul Stanescu would serve as the interim prime minister.Tudose is the second prime minister ousted by the Social Democrats since they won Romania's December 2016 general election.Earlier in June last year, Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu was ousted following power struggles within his party and over the country's failed anti-corruption fight.
