American singer, actress and writer Miley Ray Cyrus was born today. She was born on November 23, 1992, in Nashville, Tennessee. She is particularly known for her portrayal of the lead character in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. In keeping with the success of Hannah Montana, a Soundtrack CD was broadcast in October 2006, with 8 songs sung on the program. Her solo music career began on 23 June 2007 with the release of her debut album, Meet Miley Cyrus.

Including her first top 10 single "See You Again". The song helped Cyrus connect Radio Disney to the mainstream Top 40 success and opened the way for many other Disney artists. Her second album, Breakout, was released on 22 July 2008. Breakout is Cyrus' first album that does not include Hannah Montana's copyright. Both albums debuted on the Billboard 200 for the first time.

Cyrus starred in the film Bolt in 2008 and recorded the song "I Thought I Lost You" for her soundtrack. For this, she was awarded the Golden Globe nomination. She starred in the film Hannah Montana, titled 'Hannah Montana: The Movie' which was released on 10 April 2009. Additionally, she sang the lead single for the movie soundtrack called "The Kalimb".
