Islamabad: Militants stormed a security checkpoint in Balochistan's Kech region, killing ten Pakistani soldiers, according to the military's media wing.The militants carried out a "fire raid" on the night of January 25-26, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

One terrorist was killed and several others were injured during the heavy firefight. According to the ISPR statement, ten soldiers were killed while repelling a terrorist fire raid. Three terrorists were captured in the follow-up clearance operation, which is still ongoing to find the perpetrators of the incident, according to the statement.

The ISPR statement stated, "The armed forces are determined to remove terrorists from our country at any cost." Terrorists attacked a military checkpoint in Bannu's Janikhel earlier this month, killing a soldier.

On January 5, security authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa killed two troops and as many militants in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs).
