Jammu: Two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. That's where the police reported this. A defense spokesman said the militants forcibly infiltrated a residential house and had taken 2 girls hostage. The defence spokesman said, "After which the security forces immediately surrounded the house and after some time pulled the distressed girls out of the clutches of the terrorists.

He has said that 'both the girls have been handed over to their families. Soon after the rescue, the militants in the house started firing at the security forces. After which both the terrorists were killed in retaliation. A senior police official said that as soon as the presence of the militants was detected, an attempt was made to evacuate civilians from the area. The hidden terrorists have been repeatedly asked to surrender, but they refused to do so, after which they were killed.

Militants open fire on security forces: A police spokesman said that security forces cordoned off redwani area of the district late on Wednesday night and launched a search operation. He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the militants opened fire on the security forces. The spokesman said that 2 terrorists were killed in the firing in the early hours of Thursday. He continued, saying that the slain terrorists have been identified as Amir Bashir Dar and Adil Yusuf Shan, from The Resistance Front, a lashkar-e-taiba branch.
