Minister Atul Bora Safely Escapes Convoy Crash in Meghalaya, 2 Constables Injured

Guwahati: In an unprecedented event, the convoy of Assam agriculture minister Atul Bora met with an accident in Meghalaya. The convoy car topple-turned at Nongpoh, on the Guwahati-Shillong road on Thursday afternoon. According to eyewitnesses account, the high-speed convoy car lost its balance at a sharp turn. Sources have confirmed that Minister Bora is safe and have not sustained any injuries in the accident.

It may be mentioned that, the convoy was enroute to Silchar from Guwahati when one of the vehicles turtle-turned after the driver lost control at Nongpo in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district. Sources further informed that, two Assam Police constables who were accompanying Minister Atul Bora in his official pilot car were injured in the accident and one of them sustained serious injuries. They have been moved to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Further details are yet to be received.
