Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy held a review meeting on Ganesh Utsav here on Saturday. Srinivas Yadav clarified that there is no restriction on the height of the idols and asked the organizers to install the idols keeping in mind the favorable conditions. He directed the police commissioners and DGPs to give instructions to their personnel in this regard.

Former councilor Sheelam Prabhakar told that during the immersion, the organizers of the pandals of Uppal, Malkajgiri and Secunderabad were facing problems. The minister assured them of resolving the problem by talking to the organizers and officials. During 2019, around 33,000 idols were installed in the city and according to that figure, there will be heavy endowments with 30,000 police personnel. Cranes will be provided depending on the number of idols installed. Minister Srinivas Yadav asked the officers of all the concerned departments to coordinate and make arrangements following the COVID guidelines.

He said that the government is celebrating all festivals and Ganesh Utsav will also be celebrated like Bonalu. He asked the GHMC officials to clean the lakes in which the idols would be immersed. Minister Indrakaran Reddy appealed to the devotees to install clay idols and said that HMDA, GHMC and Endowment Department would provide free clay idols to the devotees.
