Amaravati: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been entrusted with the responsibility of preparing detailed reports (DPR) for road projects in the state. The selection of consultants will be conducted by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (Mort - Road Transport and Highways). The Road Development Corporation will look after the dpr and consultancy responsibilities for the road project in the state. The state government will submit a report on the number of traffic vehicles on the road and passenger car units to mortgage. However, the NHAI will prepare DPR for the construction of the Anantapur-Guntur highway, along with the bangalore-vijayawada expressway, which the centre has sanctioned to the state, and the highway projects from Visakhapatnam port to Bhogapuram Airport. Consultancies will be selected through tenders and the estimated cost and alignment for road projects will be finalized.

The state's R&B Minister Shankar Narayana recently When the Union Minister met Gadkari, he requested the Bangalore-Vijayawada Expressway alignment to be finalized. R&B has submitted a proposal to build an expressway via Kodikonda Check Post, Pulivendula, Muddanur and Maidukur. However, it was proposed to build a greenfield expressway (via forest area) from Maidukuru to Vijayawada. APIIC has created DPR for Rs 1,500 crore for the road project from Visakhapatnam port to Bhogapuram Airport. However, nhai is dissatisfied with the DPR and nhai engineers will prepare DPR and select consultancy.  Anantapur-Guntur road construction will be taken up by the center. NHAI will create DPR for road construction to Anantapur, Bugga, Colimigundla, Banaganapalle, Giddalur, Kambham, Vinukonda and Guntur.
