New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Youth and Sports has taken a big decision and dismissed the Indian Paralympic Committee. The reason for its pursuit is said to be the violation of rules. The Paralympic Committee was suspended as per the provisions of Clause I (ix) and Annex-III of National Sports. The committee has broken the rules of the Indian Sports Development Code 2011. The ministry says that the situation had arisen in recent times. The government had no option left with that.

The Indian Paralympic Committee is therefore suspended in accordance with the provisions of Clause (ix) and Annex-III of National Sports. The committee's AGM was held on May 4 this year, in which a resolution was passed that the selection of public servants in the executive of the committee should be banned.

Only after this, Rao Inderjit Singh was removed from the presidency and Gursharan Singh took his place as interim. After being removed from the post of chairman, Rao Inderjit Singh (complained to the ministry, following which the ministry had to take stern steps. The government found that the committee failed to run the system properly. So the government has taken this step.
