A shocking incident comes to light from Kerala’s capital city where a minor girl was reportedly married off to her rapist.  According to the information the 16-year-old girl was asked to enter a wedlock with the man who repeatedly raped her last year. As of now the three men arrested in connection with the groom.

The accused has been identified as Ameer. He is 23 years old. The father of the girl and Ustad Anwar Sadath (39), who solemnized the marriage. According to the information, Ameer is a member of a locally and was arrested in 2021 for raping the minor girl several times.  Not only this but he also served a jail term of four months for the crime before getting bail.  The accused visited the girl's house and raped her several times again.

The victim's parents were Humiliated what to do about the man who has several criminal cases registered against him, asked Ustad Anwar Sadath.  He then solemnized the marriage between the rapist and the survivor. The incident came to light when the girl's school noticed her prolonged absence from classes and launched an enquiry. After they learned that their student was illegally married off, the school management reached out to the Nedumangadu police and filed a complaint against them.

After investigating the issue when Police officials found this truth. As of now, the police made three arrests. The accused were booked under the relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences POSCO Act and the Child Marriage  Prohibition Act. All three were remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. As of now, further investigation is going on in the case.
