On March 2, 2018, the pregnancy of 14-year-old girl was aborted on the night of Holi. The minor was allegedly raped by her two brothers. On Wednesday police officials have told this in their statement after arresting them.

As per the reports, the two brothers had overpowered the girl while she was going to answer the call of nature. They both took her to the isolated place and allegedly raped her. The local court has sent the two accused in 14-days judicial custody.

The incident came into limelight after one and a half month od assault when the girl complained of pain in her abdomen, reports TOI. After this, her parents rushed her to Government Multi-specialty Hospital for a check-up.

When doctors checked the girl they came to know that the minor is pregnant and hence informed the police. First, the girl's parents were willing to lodge a complaint but later changed their mind.

On April 23, police had registered a case under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under Sections of POCSO Act. While the family had requested for the girl's abortion as she was a minor. After taking a legal opinion, doctors carried out the abortion last month, reports TOI.
