NEW DELHI: Pakistan cricket batsman Misbah-ul-Haq has made it clear that he has not yet applied for the post of head coach of the national team. Misbah, who has been identified as the most successful captain of the Test, told the media that he has only agreed to observe the camp as he wants to help the players in preparation for the upcoming international and domestic season. Prospective players from Pakistan team are participating in the pre-season adaptation camp in Lahore under the guidance of Misbah.

He said, "I know these players, I've played with them. I know the needs of domestic and international cricket. I know what kind of preparation is needed and if I can help why not," the former captain said, adding that he has not yet decided whether to apply for the post of head coach.

"So far I have not applied for the post of the head coach and of course I will resign as a member of the Cricket Committee first on the day I do so." Amid the discovery of a new coach, the Pakistan Cricket Board has given a key responsibility to Misbah-ul-Haq. The PCB has organized a camp for 20 cricketers from Pakistan whose coaching has been entrusted to Misbah-ul-Haq. This is a pre-season camp that will be set up in view of the preparations for Pakistan's upcoming international series.
