Lahore: Former captain Misbah-ul-Haq could be the new coach of Pakistan Tam among Pakistan's legendary cricketers. After a poor performance in the World Cup, the team is looking for a new head coach. Misbah is believed to be the new coach of the team. The possibility is also high because he recently recused himself from the Pakistan Cricket Board committee. And now, for the first time, Misbah-ul-Haq has admitted that he is in the race to become the head coach of the Pakistan team.
Misbah has briefed PCB Director Zakir Khan on his departure from the Pakistan Cricket Board Committee at a meeting in Lahore. There was speculation for several days that 44-year-old Misbah-ul-Haq would be appointed chief selector along with the head coach. He admitted to his involvement in the team's head coach race for the first time on Monday.
Misbah said, "I have been involved in the race for the Head Coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team for a long time, but it is interesting that I have decided on Monday itself. According to Pak Cricket Board sources, no major foreign name other than Dean Jones of Australia has applied for the head coach. Former Pakistani captain Waqar Yunus applied for a bowling coach and said he was also thinking of applying for the head coach but would prefer to be a bowling coach when Misbah was involved in the race.
