Missing AN-32 leftovers untraced;officials contact to families

Monday; July 25, 2016: The IAF aircraft AN-32 that went missing on Friday,today enter on the third consecutive day.As the continuous Search and Rescue Operation, hopes of endurance of the 29 persons on panel the ill-fated flight are roughly nothing now.

According to the Senior Functionary said that,"The ministry of defence (MoD) has appointed a senior rank official to coordinate with the families of the 29 people and keep them informed and provide support in this hour of difficulty,"

The respective service headquarters of all the four forces, the IAF, Indian Navy, the coast guard and Indian Army whose personnel were on board the flight have reached out to the families physically. Besides, a WhatsApp group involving members of the 29 families has also been created for the flow of information and updates.

Coast Guard official yesterday said that, “A thorough search operation has been mounted by ships from the mainland, encompassing an area of 120 x 120 Nautical Miles, while the aircraft are undertaking search in a much larger area of 300 x 360 NM. In addition, ships and aircraft from Andaman and Nicobar region are carrying out search in areas along the flight track from Chennai to Port Blair,"

Offcial added that, "The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at Chennai, has also passed on messages to the Merchant vessels transiting the area to keep a sharp lookout for any signs of missing aircraft,"

However the SAR squad faced the existing uneven weather conditions in area with cloudy sky and visibility up to 2000 metres.
