Today is the birthday of Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj. Born on December 3, 1982, in Jodhpur, India. Born in a Tamil family, Mithali started learning classical dance as a child and by the age of 10, Mithali had become proficient in Bharatanatyam. It was her father who encouraged her for cricket, after which she left classical dance and started playing cricket. Her mother Leela Raj was also a cricket player and his father Durai Raj was an officer in the Air Force.

It is worth mentioning that Mithali Raj is a great player of Indian women's cricket, she has taken the team to new heights under her captaincy. She has a different style of playing cricket, she always remains in the headlines with her brilliant performance. Mithali told about herself that she wanted to become a classical dancer as a child. Her father always wanted to teach her to be disciplined because she was very lazy in childhood.   

Mithali has completed her schooling in Hyderabad. She started playing cricket from school and was selected in the Indian team at the age of 17.
