Mizoram: Longding Battalion of the Assam Rifles distributes solar lanterns

The Assam Rifles' Longding Battalion (AR) distributed 95 solar lanterns to locals in Longkhao hamlet on Thursday to help them light their homes amid regular power outages.

It's also a quest to maintain peace and harmony in the neighbourhood, as well as to solve genuine local problems. Longkhao village, because of its remote location, experiences frequent and long power outages throughout the year. It is a somewhat large community with a sizable population, including a large number of students. As a result, solar lanterns were required to help the villagers in dealing with regular power outages, which posed a challenge in daily household tasks, particularly at night. The move astounded the community, particularly the women. They conveyed their gratitude and appreciation for Longding Battalion Assam Rifles' noble gesture.
