Aizawl: In the Champai district of Mizoram, bordering Myanmar, people are forced to spend the night in a tent outside the house. There is a lot of fear among the people about the earthquake. It is noteworthy that earthquake has occurred many times in the Northeast region in the last one month. According to the PTI report, officials have informed that since June 18, four districts - Champai, Situal, Siaha, and Seership have felt earthquake tremors at least 22 times. Its intensity is recorded between 4.2 to 5.5.

Informing the media, Champai District Deputy Commissioner Maria CT Juali said that temporary tents have been installed by the people in many villages and the district administration has provided them with tarpaulins, water barrels, salor lamps, and first aid kits. He said that biscuits and food have also been arranged for old people. During this time, there have been 20 maximum earthquakes in Champai.

Zuali said more than 16 villages were affected by the earthquake and more than 170 houses, including the church and community hall, were damaged. At least five temporary tents have been installed in Dungtaleng, the most affected by the Champai district earthquake. In this regard, John Jothamnavia Funai, assistant secretary of the Dungtaleng Young Mizo Association (YMA) has given information.
