Mizoram records 932 new Covid-19 cases for the second day in a row

Aizawl: Mizoram on Saturday took the Covid-19 count to 1,11,651 while the death toll rose to 380, as 6 more people succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours. For the second consecutive day, 932 new Covid-19 cases were registered, an official said.

He said the one-day positivity rate was 13.71 per cent as fresh cases were detected from 6,806 sample tests. He said that Aizawl district reported the maximum number of 643 cases, followed by Lunglei district (71) and Siaha district (63). He said at least 185 of the newly infected are children.

The number of active Covid-19 cases now stands at 13,316, while 97,955 people have recovered from the infection. The recovery rate in Kovid-19 patients is 87.73 percent and the mortality rate is 0.34 percent. The state has so far conducted over 12.13 lakh sample tests for COVID-19. State Immunization Officer Dr Laljavmi said that till Friday more than 6.89 lakh people have been vaccinated, out of which 4.9 lakh people have received the full dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
