Mizoram Rural Bank (MRB) will sponsor two professional boxers from Mizoram. The bank would provide monetary assistance of Rs 50,000 each to two professional boxers. This assistance will help the boxers in boosting their career.
According to the official, Mizoram sports minister Robert Romawia Royte on Monday invited MRB chairman Jayachandra and general manager Amal Chandra Sarkar at his office chamber. He told them that some Mizo boxers have a bright future to attain international limelight.
The MRB officials told the minister that they would provide monetary assistance of Rs 50,000 each to two professional boxers – Lalrinsanga Tlau, who is currently playing in Dubai and NT Lalbiakkima, a resident of Siaha town. Replying to the minister’s request, the MRB officials also said they would extend all possible help to the sports persons through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
