New Delhi: Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin met interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi and former party president Rahul Gandhi on Friday. This is Stalin's first meeting with the Congress High Command since he took over as CM recently. The meeting took place at Sonia Gandhi's residence at 10 Janpath. Stalin's wife Durgavati Stalin was also present on the occasion. After the meeting, Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress will continue to work closely with the DMK to empower and enrich Tamil Nadu.

Sharing a picture of the meeting, he tweeted, "Happy to meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi and me, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and his wife Durgavati Stalin. We will continue to work closely with DMK to build a strong and prosperous Tamil Nadu.'' The alliance of DMK, Congress and some other parties won the Tamil Nadu assembly elections held in April. Stalin has taken over as the CM of the state for the first time.
Earlier, MK Stalin said after meeting PM Modi on Thursday that he has urged PM Modi to give an additional dose of covid-19 vaccine to the state. Stalin, who came to Delhi for the first time after taking oath as CM last month, met Prime Minister Modi here and urged him to restart the central government's vaccine production plants in Tamil Nadu. One vaccine production plant in the state is in Chengalpet in Chennai while the other is in Nilgiris.
