Lucknow: Mungrabadshahpur BSP MLA Sushma Patel, who inherited politics as she stepped into the threshold of her in-laws, has joined the SP in the presence of national president Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow last Saturday. Sushma Patel had contested from Mungrabadpur on a BSP ticket in 2017. In which the then BJP MLA Seema Dwivedi was defeated and elected MLA. However, people in the district were already speculating that Sushma could go to SP at any time. She had earlier held a meeting with Akhilesh Yadav at a function in Madiahoon. Earlier, her husband had also joined hands with SP. Sushma's mother-in-law and father-in-law Madiahoon have been MLAs from the assembly.

The media spoke to Sushma, who has been suppressing SP, where she said that she started her political career with BSP. The ticket was finalized and worked hard from BSP on January 15, 2015. Contested the 2017 elections from BSP. After being elected MLA, the work for the party was on the cause day and night. In 2020, BSP National President Mayawati was expelled from the party for being falsely accused of indulging in anti-party activities. Husband Ranjit Singh has already quit government service and joined the SP. Sushma Patel was questioned whether she would contest from Mungra or Madiahoon. But she replied that she could not say anything now. I am going to do the same as the national president's order. Sushma said she joined the SP after thorough discussions with her colleagues and workers.''

Where it has been found that Sushma Patel is originally a resident of Sahopatti in Madiahoon assembly constituency. His father-in-law Dudhnath Patel has also served as MLA from Lok Dal in 1985 and mother-in-law Savitri Patel from Janata Dal in 1989 and then from Madiahoon in 1993 with the SP-BSP alliance. However, in view of the political background of his family, the heat in Madiahoon is also increasing.
