Lucknow: Mungrabadshahpur BSP MLA Sushma Patel, who inherited politics as she stepped into the threshold of her in-laws, has joined the SP in the presence of national president Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow last Saturday. Sushma Patel had contested from Mungrabadpur on a BSP ticket in 2017. In which the then BJP MLA Seema Dwivedi was defeated and elected MLA. However, people in the district were already speculating that Sushma could go to SP at any time. She had earlier held a meeting with Akhilesh Yadav at a function in Madiahoon. Earlier, her husband had also joined hands with SP. Sushma's mother-in-law and father-in-law Madiahoon have been MLAs from the assembly.

The media spoke to Sushma, who has been suppressing SP, where she said that she started her political career with BSP. The ticket was finalized and worked hard from BSP on January 15, 2015. Contested the 2017 elections from BSP. After being elected MLA, the work for the party was on the cause day and night.
