Mumbai: Following Raj Thackeray's warning to remove loudspeakers from mosques in Maharashtra, a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena worker had on Wednesday morning run the Hanuman Chalisa during azaan. The Kandivali police have registered a case against the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activist in the case. The police have registered a case under Section 505 of the IPC and started investigating the case.

Police alleged that the activist had played the video of Azaan in another phone and recorded it at the time of Hanuman Chalisa. At the time this video was made, there has been no azaan in any mosque in Kandivali. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists recited Hanuman Chalisa near some mosques in protest against azaan on loudspeakers. At the same time, the police have arrested 250 Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists who recited the Hanuman Chalisa or tried to recite it.

The same Raj Thackeray had given an ultimatum to the Uddhav government to remove loudspeakers from mosques. He had said that the Maharashtra Nava Nirman Sena workers will recite Hanuman Chalisa at all the places where the azaan is performed through loudspeakers. The police went to the mosques and checked the sound of loudspeakers. Loudspeakers were not played at many mosques. At the same time, Raj Thackeray said, "There are 1400 mosques in Mumbai, out of which 135 mosques were run by breaking the Supreme Court order and playing azaan from loudspeakers." I want to ask the Government, what action has been taken on them? In Maharashtra, this issue is getting hottered day by day.
