Guwahati: Senior GNRC doctor Navneel Barua, after 12 hours of interrogation at Dispur police station, has made a shocking revelation that he had consulted Director General of Assam Police Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta before shifting Rajkanya Barua to the ICU.

Model Rajkanya Barua was admitted to the ICU by Dr Navnil Barua, senior doctor of GNRC. Due to which a notice was given by the police that an attempt was being made to save Rajkanya Barua by allegedly being admitted to the ICU. Doctors now claim that they had no idea who the model was.

Dr Navneel Barua was later called for questioning by the Dispur Police for allegedly giving fake medical reports to Rajkanya Barua and hospitalized without any serious health problems. Model Rajkanya Barua, who had allegedly thrashed nine PWD workers in an inebriated state last week, was sent to 14-day jail custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM). The court has said in its order that he will be kept in the Guwahati Central Jail and he will not be given any VIP treatment. The state police have registered a case against him under sections 279, 294, 388 and 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
