New Delhi: A meeting of the Union Cabinet has been called through video conferencing on Wednesday amid the ongoing farmer movement in the country. Important issues such as agricultural law can be discussed in this meeting. According to sources, the Union Cabinet may also discuss the extension of the tenure of the Commission on Subclassification of Other Backward Classes (OBC). According to sources, the central government can give approval for the industrial package of Rs 28 thousand crores for Jammu and Kashmir.

It is noteworthy that in June last year, the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi approved the extension of the tenure of the Commission to six months i.e. 31 January 2021 to investigate the issue of subclassification of OBCs. Giving information, sources said that the issue of extending the tenure of the Commission is likely to be discussed in the cabinet meeting scheduled on Wednesday.

Explain that this Commission was formed on 2 October 2017 under Article 340 of the Constitution. Justice (Retd.) G. The commission started work in October 2017 under Rohini's leadership. The Commission is in talks with all the States / Union Territories and State Backward Class Commissions that sub-classify the Other Backward Classes.
