Palamu (Jharkhand): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday laid the foundation stones of diverse development projects in Jharkhand’s Palamu. He also handed over keys to five beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Addressing on the occasion, PM  Modi attacked the Congress and asserted the main opposition party treats farmers as a vote bank while his Bharatiya Janata Party considers them as 'annadata' (provider of food).

“Farmers are a vote bank for the Congress, while we consider them 'annadata' (provider of food). This is the difference between the Congress and the BJP,” Modi asserted in the gathering.

He also slammed the previous Jharkhand governments. The PM said that previous governments were least bothered about farmers' welfare in Jharkhand and delayed in completing the Mandal dam project is a proof of that.

PM Modi also pointed out that his government was not working with the aim to take credit for development projects, unlike the grand old Congress governments which indulged in naming projects after their leaders.

“We didn't make Narendra Modi Awas Yojana, we didn't make Namo Awas Yojana, we didn't make Raghubar Das Awas Yojana; we made Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana so that the next PM can take the work forward,” he  lashed out.

PM Modi said if the Congress governments had worked for the interests of farmers and implemented projects for their gain, then the farmers would not have been forced to take loans.

PM Modi claimed that the Congress governments first forced the farmers to take loans and is now ambiguous them in the name of loan waivers.
