New Delhi: The people of India have faith in the government of PM Narendra Modi. This has come out of the survey conducted by the market research firm Ipsos Global Trust Monitor in the top 21 countries of the world. The purpose of the survey was to know how much trust the people of these 21 countries have in their governments. In this, the people of India have expressed maximum faith in their government. In other words, the Narendra Modi government at the centre has emerged as the most trusted government in the world.
The firm interviewed people in 21 countries, including Canada, South Africa, Turkey, and the United States. In most countries, people between the ages of 16 and 74 were asked for their opinion about their government. Individuals aged 18–74 were interviewed in Canada, South Africa, Turkey, and the United States. This survey was completed in the months of August and September last year.
Most of the urban population participated in this survey. 52 percent of people have expressed confidence in the government of India. At the same time, it has emerged as the most trusted sector, along with IT companies (57 percent), energy companies (57 percent), and banking services (57 percent). However, people in the survey have also highlighted a lack of trust in social media companies and oil and gas companies. Amit Adarkar, CEO, Ipsos India, said, "IT companies are the most trusted by people on the Internet, followed by energy, banking, retail, the finance sector, pharmaceuticals, packaged goods, oil, and gas companies."
