New Delhi: The Union Budget 2023 is scheduled to be presented in the country in a few days. Many important announcements are likely to be made in this year's budget. Meanwhile, many important announcements can also be made for the railways by the government. Information about running many new trains can also be given in these announcements. Also, there is a possibility of making announcements about high-speed trains. The Modi government is constantly focusing on high-speed trains. The launch of the Vande Bharat train is also a great example of this. Also, work on the bullet train project is also going on. In such a situation, this time also the government will try to give new dimensions to these high-speed trains. The Railway Budget was merged with the Union Budget in 2017. The Finance Minister now presents the Unified Budget on the same day.

At the same time, it is being said that this time the plan of 400 new Vande Bharat trains can be revealed in the budget by the government. This is in addition to the plan of 400 semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains in three years, which Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had already introduced in the last budget. With the introduction of these hundreds of new trains, the central government aims to complete two goals.

These include the goal of gradually replacing all existing high-speed trains, including Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express so that speed can be increased by more than 180 km per hour on important routes. The second target is to lay the foundation for railways to manufacture trains for export to East Asia, Europe, and South America markets by 2025-26. In addition to this plan to increase the speed and export capabilities of Indian Railways, the budget may also increase the allocation of funds for strengthening infrastructure. In this budget, the budgetary support through the government is likely to be increased to Rs 1.9 lakh crore for the financial year 2024. This will be 30 percent more than Rs 1.4 lakh crore in the current year. The Railway Ministry is estimating a growth of over 20 percent in its total capital expenditure in the coming financial year to over Rs 3 trillion.
