New Delhi: Rising petrol and diesel prices in the country have created a hue and cry all around. Meanwhile, the central government has taken a major decision. In fact, in a boost to electric vehicles, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced a waiver of registration fees for such vehicles. The government has also issued a notification in this regard. The government believes that this will boost people to drive electric vehicles.

The Union Ministry has said that registration fees or registration renewal fees for buying an electric vehicle will be waived. This means that if you buy a new electric vehicle, you won't have to pay the registration fee for it. Not only that, the renewal fee will not have to be paid if the RC expires.

State that this central government rule will apply not only to cars but to all battery-operated vehicles. This includes two-wheelers, three-wheelers. The government's aim behind this is to make people use as many electric vehicles as they can now. This was stated by the Union Ministry in a tweet from its official Twitter handle.
