New Delhi: There is good news for central government pensioners. Now, pensioners will be given monthly pension slips from the bank. The government has directed the pension banks to provide pension slips to the pensioners with full knowledge. In a meeting of pension disbursement banks and Central Pension Processing Centres (CPCC) on 15th June, 2021, it has been decided to issue pension slips to pensioners keeping in view their convenience.

The Central Government has ordered banks to ensure 'ease of living' of pensioners. The slip to be issued by the banks will give full details of the amount deposited, tax deduction as well as monthly pension paid. Banks can provide pension slips through SMS or email and even WhatsApp. The move by the Central Government will help retired employees to know about the 7th Pay Commission allowances, special DA and DR arrears.

At the same time, they will no longer have to go around the bank. Pension slips will also facilitate income tax compliance of pensioners. In a memorandum issued on June 22, the Department of Pensions said that to facilitate the lives of pensioners, a meeting was held on 15th June with CPCC to the pensioners to discuss the issue of providing monthly pension information to pensioners.
