New Delhi: The Modi government at the Center on Friday will hold talks with representatives of farmer unions protesting on the borders of Delhi against three agricultural laws passed during the last monsoon session of Parliament. This will be the talk of the eighth round. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 2 pm at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi.
Prior to this meeting, Rakesh Tikait, spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) has said that the government is just giving dates on dates, dates on dates. The government is trying to use the potential spread of the coronavirus to put an end to our movement. Rakesh Tikait reiterated that the farmers would not return home without getting their demands. Tikait further said that the farmers have planned to take out a tractor march with the tank of the Indian Army during the Republic Day parade if the talks are not made in today's conversation.
He said that we are going to take out a tractor march with the Indian Army on 26 January. There will be army tanks on one side and tractors on the other side. A hundred tractors will march with a tableau. The government should make full preparations in this regard. Earlier, the seventh round of talks between the farmers and the Center on 4 January had been inconclusive. The government is trying to convince the farmers.
