UK: At the 26th session of the Conference of Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson launched the Infrastructure for Resilient Island States (IRIS) initiative. On Sunday, Prime Minister Modi arrived in Glasgow for the COP26 summit.

In Glasgow, Scotland, today, the Prime Minister will meet with the leaders of Ukraine, Nepal, Israel, Switzerland, Finland, and Malawi, as well as Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates. He is also expected to attend the United States of America's side event, Build Back a Better World. PM Modi will also participate in an event titled "Accelerating Clean Technology Innovation and Development."

PM Modi met Boris Johnson on the sidelines of COP26 on Monday. He stated that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has accepted Prime Minister Modi's invitation to visit India, and that he will plan his trip as soon as the circumstances permit. In Glasgow, he also met with members of the Indian community to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries ahead of his participation in the Conference of Parties' 26th session (COP26).

The COP26 is being hosted by the United Kingdom, with Italy as a partner. The World Leaders' Summit (WLS) is the high-level segment of COP-26, and it brings together heads of state and government from over 120 countries. The Prime Minister is in town for a two-day visit to take part in the festivities.
