New Delhi: The first cabinet meeting was held on Thursday (July 8, 2021), the day after PM Narendra Modi's first cabinet expansion of his second term. The PM Modi-led meeting took a number of important decisions that could have far-reaching implications. Decisions related to the agriculture and the health sector are very important in the meeting. Under this, the government will reach out to farmers by one lakh crore rupees through the market. At the same time, the Government has also announced an emergency health package of Rs. 23,000 crores.

The newly appointed Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has informed that a new package of Rs.23,000 crore has been released in view of the difficulties faced during the second wave of covid. 15,000 crore will be spent by the Central Government, while Rs 8,000 crore will be provided to the States. 15,000 crore in 2020 to deal with corona. With the help of this, Covid Hospital and Covid Care Centre were opened.

He said that with this amount, covid dedicated hospitals, covid care centres and oxygen beds were set up. At present, there are 4,389 covid dedicated hospitals, 10,000 covid care centres and more than 4 lakh oxygen beds in the country. He said earlier there were 163 covid dedicated hospitals while there was not a single covid care centre.
