Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the country's first Health and Wellness Center under the Ayushmann Bharat Scheme. 18 thousand 840 health sub-centres in this financial year have to be changed in the Wellness Center. For this, the central government has made a budget of Rs. 1200 crores separately. In the budget of 2017-18, 1.5 lakh health sub-centres were announced for conversion to the Health and Wellness Center but the budget was not provided. In the budget of 2018-19, the budget has been made for this scheme. This will make them easier to start.  
Key points of the plan

  • Under this scheme, BPL families will be insured and they will be provided cashless treatment in hospitals. 
  • People of poor families will be able to get cure of up to Rs 5 lakh under this scheme.
  • It is not necessary to get admitted in government hospitals under this scheme. The patient can also be admitted to selected private hospitals for treatment. 
  • Central Government has allocated a sum of Rs. 2000 crores in the budget for the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. 
  • This scheme is being started instead of the National Health Insurance Scheme for BPL families. 
  • Earlier this scheme was covered by insurance cover of only Rs. 30000. 

 
What is the Health Wellness Center?
The budget has been announced by Ayushman India. It has two components. Free health insurance of Rs. 5 lakhs for the first 10.74 lakh families. Second, the Health Wellness Center It will update the primary health centers across the country. These centers will be treated and free medicines are available.
 

Health and Wellness Center 12 will have health facilities. There will also be a facility for testing along with treatment. Not only this, the medicine that will be written to the patient in the district hospital. The medicine patient will be available at the Health and Wellness Center near his home, the work is also underway. 

What diseases will be covered? 
Maternal health and delivery facilities, nascent and children's health, teenage health facilities, contraceptive facilities and the management of infectious, non-infectious diseases, treatment of eye, nose, ear and throat disease. There will be a separate unit for this. Apart from this, treatment of the elderly will also be facilitated.

  • Bihar: 643 
  • Chhattisgarh: 1000 
  • Gujarat: 1185 
  • Haryana: 255 
  • Rajasthan: 505 
  • Jharkhand: 646 
  • Madhya Pradesh: 700 
  • Maharashtra: 1450 
  • Punjab: 800
